Here is where we feature a new card technique to get your creative juices flowing!
This month, we are using our Cassette Punch Set, Handmade paper and No-Hole Glass Beads. (Remember when the no-hole glass beads were first introduced, about 10 years ago? They cost about $4.50 for a package! Now, you can get a vial for $0.99 on our site!)
1)We used the punch set to punch out a word, name or date.
The punch works terrific on our handmade paper, too! Then, when the word is all punched out, we cut around the word and end up with a slip of paper with word-shaped-holes; in other words, we are using the negative of the punches, not the punched letters themselves.
2) We cut double-sided adhesive to the approximate size of the punched word. We removed only one side of the paper from the adhesive and placed it on the BACK of the punched word, sticky-side up. This way, when you now looked at the punched word, it was sticky. On the back, it had the adhesive, but the paper was still protecting it, get it?
3)We covered the sticky word with no-hole glass beads, like you would apply glitter, lavishly.
Give the beads a quick push, so that they stick into the adhesive well. Pour the extra beads back into the bottle and you now have a word, made with beautiful paper and beads! This can be used for the front of a card, the title of a picture or page for a scrapbook, and lots of altered projects!
